              Syllabus


  • Discuss and apply regulatory and conceptual framework for financial reporting.
  • Account for transactions in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Analyse and interpret the financial statements.
  • Prepare and present financial statements of single and group entities which conform to International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Demonstrate employability and technology skills.

  • Regulatory and  conceptual framework for financial reporting.
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs)
  • Financial Statements
  • Business combinations. 
  • Analysing and interpreting financial statements.
     

               Examinability

    

  • The syllabus is assessed by a three-hour computer-based examination.
  • All questions are compulsory. The exam will contain both computational and discursive elements. 
  • Some questions will adopt a scenario/case study approach. 
  • SECTION A comprises 15 objective test questions (OTQs) of 2 marks each. 
  • SECTION B  comprises 3 objective test cases (OT cases), each of which includes 5 OTQs of 2 marks each. 
  • SECTION C of the examination comprises 2 constructed response (CR) questions of 20 marks each.  
  • The 20-mark constructed response (CR) questions will examine the interpretation and preparation of financial statements for either a single entity or a group. 
  • The Section A and Section B questions can cover any areas of the syllabus.
